Health Extension Whole Elk Antler #chewyinfluencer

Here I am on the last day of the month doing my Chewy.com review for July.  In my defense, I did have a 30-day challenge I was working on and I had to revisit this product a few times so I have been a busy dog this month.  For July Chewy.com sent me free of charge, in exchange for my honest opinion, a Health Extension Whole Elk Antler.  These are naturally shed antlers so no elk were harmed in the making of this product.  OK, let's give it a whirl after mom takes the tag off because you just know I would eat that too, BOL.

Hmmm.  I need to think on this.
Thinking ...
Mom put it in the car with my Benebones because chewing on approved stuff in the car keeps me from hurling.  But I went right for my Benebones and never touched the antler.  So there it sat for a couple of weeks.
Mom brought it back in and I left it in the hallway.
Where mom promptly tripped over it.
So I moved it to my bed and there it sat.
I gave it another try.
Ho hum ...
Belly rub?
So as you can see, I gnoshed a few gashes in it but I have to bark that it just is not my thing.  Other dogs might like them but it's not for me.

30 Day Challenge #3 - Only Natural Pet Freeze-Dried Food #chewyinfluencer

I am back to finish up my 30-day challenge - a few days late but I have been really, really busy at the B&B and had to get all of the guests out first.  But never fear, I have stayed true to my 30-day challenge.
For 30 days I have had the Only Natural Pet RawNibs as a topper on my kibble.  Chewy.com sent it to my free of charge to use for 30 days in exchange for my honest opinion.  You can see post #1 and post #2 to catch you up to speed. Mom sprinkled two tablespoons on my kibble as a topper and it lasted exactly 30 days.
Day #30 - Say what?  It is all gone?
Can I at least lick the bag for crumbs?
Let me sniff again.  I cannot believe it is all gone.
Mom must order me more.
So here is what mom and I think about this freeze-dried food as a topper.  Recently the FDA has announced that they think the grain-free diet,  kibble with potato, lentils, peas as main ingredients might cause heart disease in dogs.  What is a dog to do?  We thought we were eating healthy and we were not?  Well all I can say is Shawnee lived to be 16.5 and the mom always shook up her diet, you know, variety is the spice of life.  Shawnee got toppers, eggs, supplements, all kinds of stuff along with her kibble.  The mom does not want to rely on one specific food so she adds stuff in and this topper is one she thinks makes a pawsome add-in to make my kibble better.  I totally agree, it is YUM and that is what I care most about.  It is perfect for moms who do not want to deal with yucky (according to her, not me) meats and stinky (according to her, not me) tripe.  She just tosses it on my kibble and I snarf it down.  Can that get any easier?  It tasted super great and I think I look healthy, no?

30 Day Challenge #2 - Only Natural Pet Freeze-Dried Food #chewyinfluencer

So I am half way through my 30 day challenge for reviewing Only Natural Pet Freeze-Dried Food that Chewy.com sent me free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion,  The mom had been giving me 1 tablespoon on my kibble every night but I just knew we would not be half way through the bag in time for my half way update so I did convince her to up it to 2 tablespoons every night.  SCORE!
It smells so heavenly and it is torture to wait for the mom to take pictures when I could be eating it up.  Drool.
Check out how excited I get about my dinner.

And then the WAIT torture.

So I must bark that I LOVE this stuff on my kibble and I go cracker crazy over it.  Mom loves it because it does not look or smell like raw (to her) and it is so easy peasy for her to feed it to me.  I think it tastes pawsome and mom says it is added nutrition for me to keep me strong for hiking!  See some of my hiking since I started adding the raw to my diet:

30 Day Challenge #1 - Only Natural Pet Freeze-Dried Food #chewyinfluencer

Chewy.com sent me this Only Natural Pet Freeze-Dried Food to try free of charge for 30 days in exchange for my honest opinion.  As you can see,  am trying to get started but mom says I have to wait a bit.  Grrrrr.
So we picked the pasture raised beef and tripe.  Sounds delish, no?  You see, mom would never feed me a raw diet (boo) because she is vegan and dead meat is not allowed in our house.  But this freeze dried stuff, well it doesn't look or smell like raw so mom is down for it.  The beauty of it is, I still get my raw fix.  Yay!
I don't think I can wait much longer!
Hey, my mug could be on that package, no?
OK, so this stuff has (close your eyes, mom) raw beef and organs, fresh whole vegetables and fruit ( I LOVE me my fruit and veggies) and raw goat milk.  OK, this is new but I think I can dig it.  And it is all made in the USA!
We are going to be using it as a topper because with so many different opinions out there on what us dogs should eat, we like to go with a variety and a little raw in one's diet is probably a very good thing.  Well for me, not for mom.
Uh oh.  The rip off top is a major FAIL!  The bag won't open and mom has to go find the scissors.  NOOOOOOOO!  I was doing amazing feats of agility leaping in the air because I could wait no longer.

Finally, she found the scissors and cut it open.  Ahhhhh, the aroma.
OK, there was a heaping tablespoon until I jumped up and grabbed me some (and got yelled at, BOL).
The pre-dinner "WAIT" torture.

Al did not get any because he is not a part of this challenge but that did not stop him from looking to see if I left any.  Of course I did not leave one crumb.  If it wasn't for my slow-me-down bowl, I would have finished much, much sooner.
So I'll be barking at you in a couple of weeks with an update.

Nulo Freestyle Jerky Strips #chewyinfluencer

Hi friends!  So Chewy.com sent me a different kind of jerky free of charge to try in exchange for my honest opinion.  I chose the beef and coconut flavor.  Check them out!
Now you might say, ewwwww coconut.  Let's not be so hasty.  I am all abut the fruits and veggies so I was wiling to give it a try.
Here is what Chewy.com says about them:
Make training delicious and nutritious with the Nulo Freestyle Grain-Free Beef Recipe With Coconut Jerky Dog Treats. Every bite is loaded with beef as the first ingredient plus wholesome coconut, and a boost of goodness from probiotics to support your dog’s digestive and immune health. Tear them into bite-sized pieces for training, or treat your pal to a whole jerky when he’s been extra good! They’re slow-cooked to perfection in a natural smokehouse for a flavor your pal will jump, sit, and stay for, and they have none of the extra calories from sugar or cane molasses. Plus, they’re made in the USA with no grains, added salt, corn, wheat, gluten, soy, artificial preservatives, colors or flavorings.
So let's go into the wilds of New Jersey where we can properly test this jerky.
I am really not very interested until I can get a sniff of what I am tasting so can you open the bag please?
Oh my, now we are barking.
Hurry mom, I need to taste.
Here it comes ....
Oh the aroma ...
Mom likes this velcro close it up thing because those ziploc kind are so hard to close sometimes.
But hey, before you close that up, can I have some more?  I still have a long way to hike and need energy.
I can't believe she is putting them away.  I would eat the whole bag.  Seriously.
So then we are hiking along and I see something fly across the trail.  This would be him.  I got him in my mouth, oh yes I did.  Then I spit him out.  Then this happened ...

Did you know that toads taste NASTY?  I mean really, really, nasty.  I spit and gagged and shook my head and I so wanted some of the jerky to get the taste out of my mouth but the mean mom said no, that it served me right and that she wanted me to spit all the toad self-defense secretion out before eating something.  So finally I stopped spitting and gagging.
Please mom, PLEASE!
Oh, tastes soooooo good.  So friends, These come highly recommended to eat as delicious snack or to remove residual toad secretion from one's mouth.
