Happy 4th of July Hiking!

I swear on a stack of chicken jerky that this picture is not staged, that I RILLY did find an American flag flying ofur the hiking trail in the middle of the woods on the Fourth of July.
Most of our hike was along India Brook and that was pawfect fur a hawt day coz I could cool off my furs whenefur I wanted to.  But it was raining early on so it did not rilly matter.
Finally the sunbeams came out.
And I had to lead mom thru anudder ofurgrown trail.  "Helloooooo Mom! Ofur this way!"
This be Frog Pond but it be ofurgrown, too, so we could hear "ribbit, ribbit" but we could not see frogs.  Bet they like that big hidey spot they has in that pond!
But we found this frog in anudder pond wot was not ofurgrown and was not called Frog Pond.  I could not smooch him becoz we was too far away.  Mom got him with her super duper zoom camera.
Back at India Brook and time to cool off.
OMD, wot is this?
This be where the Seeing Eye dogs used to live.  This be the old kennels but they moved sumplace else now.
YIKES!  Flashback to my shelter days!
Ya think any of my kin might has lived in there?  Mebbe Morgan's kin or Anna's kin, too?
Back in the woods and lookie who used to live just a tennis ball throw ofur thataway...
Then we commed to the Falling Waters Fur Frankie Furter...
... and there was a bunch of two-leggers in the falling waters, too.
Even mom put her water shoes on and got in the water, too!
A few more dips in the brook on the way back to the car.  It was hawt out.
When we got home The Boy and The Girl came ofur and it woz a Fourth of July PAWTAY!
I'll be trying my luck ofur on this side of the table coz mom has tofu tube steaks and veggies ofur on her side, BLECH!
SCORE!
Sydney came out fur a quick bite but wanted back in coz the neybors be making noise with the fire cracker boomers and that makes Sydney rilly skeered.
 HAPPY 4th OF JULY EFURRYBUDDY!

  1. You had rain??? We so desperately need some, and a bit of a lowering in the temps would be nice too. Those falling waters looked quite refreshing. And Mom is drooling over that corn on the cob - sure looks like a delicious ear.

Happy Independence Day and Happy Birthday to the U.S.A.!!!

  3. WEll, we are just beside ourselves with wonder. We wonder what is in the pictures cause our _________ internet is still giving us trouble. We only got two of the pictures to show up. And it makes us so unhappy cause we love seeing all the places you go hiking, especially when you have waterfalls.

Keep having fun, we will get this fixed sooner or later and be able to look back on these.

    Happy Fourth

  4. Looks like you had a pawsome 4th celebration. We're amazed that you'd still be hiking when it's 90+ outside. Or, maybe it isn't that hot by you., Great pictures - especially the closeup of the froggie.

  10. I don't know a lot about Morgan's ancestors. We'll have to get her papers out and see if any of them came from out East! It would be cool if one of you German princesses had famous Seeing Eye roots. Your hike looks so fantastic and we are really living through you! It's so hot that I think we'd turn to a crisp if we were outside for more than a few minutes. Kuster went to work this morning and I don't know how he does it!

  11. Poor Sydney. :( Lexi-Lou used to be really, really, really, really, really scared of fireworks and thunderbooms, too. Me? I don't really care one way or the other about 'em.

  15. Happy 4th July Shawnee, the flag on the trail was great, the trail looked like so much fun, so much to see! The frog is real cute, but I like to roll in dead ones! (ooops!) and to see Whitney Hustons house thats cool but I felt sad when you said 'YIKES! Flashback to my shelter days!' but I'm glad you were smiling! It looks like you had a great time on your hike and the pawty in the evening, it looks great! I'm glad that you had some yummy foodables but feel bad that the fireworks are scary! Awwww Bless!
