All OK Here!

Just wanted to let efurrybuddy know that we is all OK here.  Sandy Frankenstorm swipied our powah but Anna the GSD's mom sent powah line fixer peeples up here from Alabammer so we is all good now.  We did not has any flooding and with no powahs fur the sump pump our basement did stay dry coz there was not much rain by us.  The other side of our town flooded big time coz of the storm surge but we was high and dry.  The wind was skeery crazy but we only got a few branches down.  We was watching the sky light up during the storm thinking it be lightening but we found out from the neybor that be transformers blowing - yikes!
Surveying the grounds after the storm.  Geez, you would think mom nefur rakes the yard, BOL!

A big tree branch blocking our street but some neybor men moved it out of the way.

Anudder big branch next to our front yard.  That be about it in our 'hood.
The hornet nest in our tree did not fare so well :(
We hear it be a big mess in Noo York City but we has not had televishuns so we needs to catch up on wot be happening in the werld around us.  I think we was furry, furry lucky.  Irene made a bigger mess at our house than Sandy did.

  4. I'm so relieved all is OK with you! From watching news reports, the amount of destruction in other parts of NJ and in NYC must be really, really awful.

  10. Oh I was so worried for you and your family Shawnee. The news makes it sound like the whole state of New Jersey floated away or burned up. Mom kept telling me you were probably okay but didn't have power so couldn't check emails. I am very happy you are safe but very sad about all of the people and animals that lost so much. Mom used to visit Seaside Heights and the Jersey shore for family stuff when she was younger and it sounds like it will never be the same again, although we believe they will definitely rebuild. And we both couldn't help but think about all the places you go hiking and what might have happened to them.

  13. Glad to know you are okay!! We've been waiting on paws and needles to make sure everyone is okay. Mom asked her power line peeps if they did help a pretty awesome Shepherdess and her mom with the skeery white legs, but they said they hadn't seen you. I guess that just means they are working too hard, which is good. Irene was worse for you and your mom! I hope your trails fared as well!

  14. Hooray, you're safe! We've been so worried about you here, the pictures on the news were real scary with all those flattened houses the waters running everywhere. Thank god you didn't have much damage but we're really sorry for everyone who did. Happy Howloween.

  15. Yay, you're all ok. I remember Irene so yes this is better (for you). It's so sad about the houses closer to the shore. Make sure you get treats from your mom today since it is Halloween.

  17. I'm so glad to hear that you're all okay and that your house didn't suffer damage. Waiting for electricity is a pain, but it's better than what a lot of other people and pups are going through. Hopefully, you'll be back to hiking soon!

  18. Thanks for letting us know you are all OK except for the wind damage. We think NYC is even worse than what we see on TV. So many patients having to be evacuated from the hospitals - very scary. We all have our paws crossed that power can be restored soon and the cleanup/restoration begin.

    Take care, pal.

  24. So glad to hear you are OK and didn't have much damage. My assistant's aunt lives in Bergen County, NJ. She just finally got her power back on last night. She had some tree branches down, but nothing serious.

Hurray Shawnee and family are OK!
